We recently had the opportunity to set up at a wedding reception for the first time — and we loved every second of it. Held at Rancho Capistrano Winery in San Juan Capistrano, this celebration was a perfect blend of elegance and fun, and we were excited to bring a new kind of entertainment to the day.
Creating a Kid Zone for a Wedding

The bride reached out to us directly and was a dream to work with — she had already confirmed the venue’s guidelines and walked us through what was allowed before, during, and after the event. That kind of communication made it easy to plan ahead and make sure we could execute everything smoothly.
The event took place in South Orange County, in the historic town of San Juan Capistrano. Rancho Capistrano Winery is such a beautiful venue, and the way they structured the day was thoughtful — especially for families. They designated a separate room just for the kids’ play area, giving little ones a place to have fun while the adults enjoyed the reception nearby. Smart move.
Our Setup: All White and Wedding-Ready
Since this was a wedding, we kept the design clean and neutral. We brought our:
- White bounce house with attached ball pit
- Separate circular ball pit
Everything was set up to feel fun for kids but still cohesive with the rest of the wedding decor. No loud colors or cartoon themes — just clean lines, soft shapes, and a fresh all-white aesthetic that fit right in.
Safety and Space

The room for the play area was a little tight, but with help from the wedding coordinator, we rearranged a few things and made sure the layout was safe and open enough for active kids and adult supervision. As always, we sanitized everything before and after the event — and even though we expect to do that at every event, it’s always nice when the venue is already so clean and organized. Their staff even told us how great they thought the setup was!
A Fun Addition to an Elegant Celebration
The kids had their own zone to play, bounce, and burn off energy — and the parents got to enjoy dinner, speeches, and dancing without worry. It was one of those setups where everyone wins. We loved seeing how well soft play and bounce houses can fit into non-kid-focused events when done right.
If this is the future of weddings with families, we’re fully on board.
