Some events just stop you in your tracks — and this baby shower at The Richland in Old Town Orange was one of them. Set in one of the most beautifully designed venues we’ve worked in, this celebration was chic, modern, and full of thoughtful touches. We were honored to be part of it with our soft play setup and balloons, both positioned right at the heart of the space.
A Venue That Sets the Tone
The Richland is located in the center of Old Town Orange, and its interiors are just as charming as the surrounding neighborhood. The room where the shower was held had towering ceilings with exposed wooden beams, massive frosted windows that let in the perfect soft light, and an open, airy layout that instantly made the space feel special. It was the kind of place that doesn’t need much dressing up — but with the right details, can look unforgettable.

The overall aesthetic of the day leaned modern farmhouse — with a twist of California chic. Think wooden chairs, dried floral arrangements, and a sea of guests in their best summer dresses and linen suits. Everything was well curated without feeling overdone.
Our Setup: Subtle, Soft, and Front-and-Center

For this baby shower, we brought in our neutral beige soft play set and designed a coordinating balloon garland in creams, beiges, and soft whisper pinks. The host placed our setup front and center in the main gathering area — not only so the children had a space to play, but so the visuals added to the overall vibe of the day.

The soft play area was styled to blend with the tones of the room — nothing loud or distracting, just soft lines and calming colors that complemented the dried blooms, wood finishes, and warm tones of the venue. The balloon garland draped gently across the backdrop, giving dimension and texture to the focal point without taking over.

The result was dreamy and delicate — perfect for a celebration honoring a baby girl.
A Truly Thoughtful Celebration

There were over 100 guests in attendance, and not a detail was missed. The event felt like something out of a southern garden party — classy, warm, and welcoming. From the seating arrangement to the floral styling to the natural light flooding in through those beautiful frosted windows, every part of this baby shower felt intentional.
We also have to mention the event coordinator — she was incredibly easy to work with and ensured that everything stayed on schedule and well organized. That level of coordination behind the scenes makes a big difference for vendors like us, and it contributed to the overall ease of the day.
A Showcase of What Soft Play Can Be
This baby shower showed exactly how soft play and balloons can be styled for elevated events — not just kids’ birthday parties. With the right palette and design, these pieces can feel elegant, minimal, and cohesive with modern decor.
It’s events like this that really show our range and help us connect with new audiences looking for something tasteful but fun for the littlest guests in the room.
